Before I watched this movie I've already heard some remarks from my friends that it's pretty bloody, scary, terrifying, and everything gory, and they told me to watch it because they know that I'm into these stuff. Well, I watched the first part and I'm quite glued up on the screen from the start to the end.

SAW is not really the jigsaw...no...no...no...It's that "thing" the
serial killer "SEE" that the victims didn't. The serial killer can be compared to Robin Hood...oh, well...not so...He is a demented fellow. Anyways, Robin Hood because he tried to change his victims' lives by giving them roles in his brainsick-crazy games, and the ones who survive would know "how great it is to be alive".

As what I've said the SERIAL KILLER is SICK. He's SICK both mentally and PHYSICALLY. He has a malady that cannot be cured and his KILLINGS
are way of reminding his victims how important it is to be alive. His illness is eating him inside and his unhinged mind instructs him to do some bloody games. He called his victims pathetic because he himself is piteous and he's a hecatomb of his own catastrophe.

That is so far my psychology of the character of the villain. I still have to watch 2 and 3...yuummm...And I picked a very important lesson from this movie...as what the serial killer said "MOST PEOPLE ARE JUST TOO UNGRATEFUL TO BE ALIVE." So goddamn true...

Remember mortals..."It's GREAT TO BE ALIVE..." Are you grateful that you are alive right at this very second, reading my post? Take a minute of reflection mortals and beware... HE's maybe standing at your back, ready to abduct you and make you a character in one of his morbid, macabre games...hahahahahahaha...

~eod~

Hannibal

Self Review::

He cut his left arm instead of hers...He wants her...he aches for her but he wanted to eat her...eat her alive...NO!

I've watched this movie maybe thrice or twice but I'm not yet satisfied and I watched it again and again. Way back my dark college days I read the book...I read it with the intention of deciphering the depth of the mind of the sharpest, wittiest, cunniest, and the most refined and sophisticated criminal in the fiction world...no other than Dr. Hannibal Lecter.

Hannibal, the forensic psychologist who is guilty of lots of bizzarre murders and hair-raising one-manned massacres. He's the cunning psychologist in Red Dragon who had been jailed to the asylum by FBI agent William. And he is the melancholic yet witty prisoner in The Silence of the Lambs who became fond of FBI Special Agent Clarice Starling. And then became the FBI's top ten most wanted criminal who has a bounty of three million dollars in Hannibal.

After giving FBI Special Agent Starling some clues on who's Buffalo Bill (the transvestite serial killer in The Silence of the Lambs)is he had wittingly escaped from his new jail, leaving three guards dead after attacking them using her sharp teeth and strong arms. He bit one guard on the face to death and the other one by merciless beating. And then he escaped from USA. He went to several countries and then make a name on his own in Florence, wherein he's known as Dr. Fell.

Lecter's whereabout in Florence has been traced by a local Police who became aware of the large amount of bounty whoever can pinpoint the doctor to the Federal people. But then Francesco (the local police) met his very tragic death at Lecter's hand. Lecter hung him to death and slashed his saccular abdominal organ causing all his other organs along with his intestines, testicles, and feces hanging and spilling out on the open air and seen by the terrified public. But well, Lecter had a near encounter with death when Mason Verger (the malformed wealthy businessman, one of Lecter's clients who he hyptonized by telling him to cut his face off with broken glass mirrors and whom Lecter fed his face's fleshes to his dog) abducted him and planned to feed him to his wild monster hogs in his farm in Sardinia. But then FBI Starling saved him and it was Mason Verger who ended up being fiested by his hungry multi-molar beasts. And then the movie ended up with Dr. Lecter feeding FBI Agent Krendler (Starling's co-officer who is Mason's subordinate in the abduction of Lecter and the cause of Starling's suspension in the Bureau) his own brain's left frontal lobe's meat, cooked in the skillet and served with wine. Kendler is actually conscious when the doctor slowly cut his upper head's skull off using a very sharp scalpel and slowly sliced a part of his brain and fried it in the skillet. The poor sedated agent ate his brain and even commented how great tasting it is. Clarice saw all of it and is terrified to death. The FBIs are coming and she tried her best to prevent the doctor to escape. But she's fully sedated and when she wittingly handcuffed him, he mindlessly cut his left arm off and escape.

Hmmmn..when I first saw the movie I was quite disappointed. I mean the book is more detailed and more interesting. Well, that's just my opinion. But still the movie doesn't lose the essence of the story and Anthony Hopkins (the one's who gives life to Hannibal Lecter's character) is very convincing and he actually received few awards because of his role. And I can say that Jodie Foster (she's the one who played Clarice Starling in The Silence of the Lambs) and Julianne Moore (Clarice Starling in Hannibal) looks quite similar and Moore is adequate in portraying the role of Clarice. And Anthony Hopkins is quite consistent in playing his role as Dr. Hannibal Lecter from Red Dragon up to the Hannibal and I'm quite excited for the coming prequel (Hannibal Rising) this year.

Thomas Harris, the author of the three novels (Red Dragon, The Silence of the Lambs, and Hannibal) had actually based Hannibal's character in one of the notorious serial killers in the US and combined it with that one in Japan. I actually forget their names. I've read it when I was in college and I couldn't remember where I digged it. But then of all the fictional villains Dr. Hannibal Lecter's character impressed me a lot. Well, not his prowess in murders and cannibalism...but the patina of his thinking. He's very clever and he is very sharp and very talented, very shrewd yet very cunning and very dangerous. And well, he loves classical music as what most genius mortals do and he is so into fine dining which made him the most sophisticated cannibal in the fiction history . But then, he only loves two mortals in his whole life...and they are Mischa (his younger sister axed, chopped, and eaten by some disserters) and Clarice Starling, the FBI Agent who is desperate to capture him alive.

Ok...I guess this is such a long review. I may now rest in peace...I mean I'm going to sleep now. Avrio mortals!!!

~eod~

The Da Vinci Code

::Self-ReviewI watched this friggin' movie last Sunday at Ayala. There were actually long lines of moviegoers when we came at the ticket booth. Okay, this movie became a hit because of its controversial theme. Well, in a Christian country like here in the Philippines this is not unnatural. I mean OA Catholics are always like that. When they heard of stuff that seemed to contradict their belief they become restless. I'm a Catholic myself but I don't follow all the superstitious beliefs of some of my fellows. In short I don't belong to the "OA" class. Lol!
The movie is all about the quest for the HOLY GRAIL and the struggle of a few Catholic leaders to protect the divinity of Jesus Christ. The old friggin' rumor of Mary Magdalene and Jesus Christ life, as a couple is the very theme of the story. And Sophie Neveu is from the Saint Clair bloodline and it means that she's a Sangreal...she's the very last descendant of Jesus Christ that's still alive. Yeah, Sophie Neveu, a French police who is an atheist...it's very ironic...the movie is very ironic...I mean Robert Langdon, the famous writer and a professor of Religious Symbology and the very main character of the story is a Catholic. An atheist and a Catholic cross path and went to a chase to decode the Da Vinci Code. Hmmn...The story is actually interesting and kinda minds twisting. I love it.
It actually started when Sophie's grandfather died and left them some clues in the whereabouts of the Holy Grail. He left clues in anagrams and symbols that were successfully decoded by Robert and Sophie. And the chase went on as the police tailed them because a Bishop told their leader that Robert is a killer. And them came Leigh the witty and wicked villain, came the albino monk who chastise himself by inflicting pains to himself the way Jesus died in the cross, and other villain characters who made the quest more difficult but full of adventure. Well, Sophie and Robert succeeded in their quest. They ended up in the Holy Grail and discovered Sophie's true identity and then the reunion of the whole descendants of Jesus Christ and Mary Magdalene.
"God uses us all"

This packin' phrase uttered by the wicked bishop when his Monk comrade died irritated me so much. Making God as an excuse for our mistakes and miscalculations isn't that cool. I mean we don't even know for sure if what we believe is true. I mean "Faith is believing in something we know ain't true"...and on and on...and on...
"What matters is what we believe"

I kinda like this phrase uttered again and again by Robert at the finale of the movie. Yeah. If we believe that this stuff existed then be it. After all nothing will change in us if we'll believe that this stuff existed. We only gain knowledge that will test the strength and foundation of our faiths and beliefs.

____________________
All pics from http://imdb.com

Mission Impossible III

Whew! All the movies that attract my attention and struck my fancy will be featured here. I love gory movies, horror, adventures, and non-stop action. So expect that I'll be featuring movies in those kinds of genres. Well, for drama and comedy fanatics don't get jealous. I'll also feature such kind of movie stuff. I love dramas sometimes if I'm in the mood and also comedy. In short I'll be featuring here any movie genres that I LOVE and like. Hehehehe.

Well, for now it's Mission Impossible III. Whew! Tom Cruise's movies always mesmerize me and so is this one. I give this movie 10 stars. Yeah. I can be very exaggerated but this movie is a must see. Anyways, here're some infos I found in some media...check it out...
____________________

Mission Impossible III
Genre: Action / Adventure / Thriller (more)

Directed by J.J. Tom Cruise reprises his role of IMF agent Ethan Hunt, and stars along with Ving Rhames, Jonathan Rhys-Meyers, Michelle Monaghan, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Laurence Fishburne, Keri Russell , Sasha Alexander and Simon Pegg. The film is in production under the direction of Alias creator J.J. Abrams. According to the film's distributor Paramount Pictures, M:i:III is scheduled to be released May 5, 2006. Filming began in Rome, Italy in July of 2005.

Plot:
Super-spy Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) has retired from active duty to trains new IMF agents. But he is called back into action to confront the toughest villain he's ever faced - Owen Davian (Philip Seymour Hoffman), an international weapons and information provider with no remorse and no conscience. Hunt assembles his team - his old friend Luther Strickell (Ving Rhames), transportation expert Declan (Jonathan Rhys Meyers), and background operative Zhen (Maggie Q), to rescue one of his very own trainees, Lindsey (Keri Russell) who was kidnapped while on a surveillance detail of Davian. It soon becomes evident that Davian is well-protected, well-connected, and downright malicious, forcing Hunt to extend his journey back into the field in order to rescue his wife, Julia (Michelle Monaghan), and uncover IMF double agents in the process.

Some Movie Goofs
Revealing mistakes: When Ethan puts on the mask to look like Davian, he does not put on any kind of contact lenses to change the color of his eyes, yet the shots of "Ethan in the mask" show blue eyes not Ethan's brown eyes.

Continuity: When Benji traces the Shanghai cell phone call location for Ethan, it's dark outside and Benji says it's about a mile north of Ethan's current location. The directions Benji subsequently give Ethan contradict the original distance by a wide margin, and en route, Ethan is suddenly in broad daylight.

Errors made by characters (possibly deliberate errors by the filmmakers): Luther describes Ethan's skyscraper stunt in Shanghai as making use of a "fulcrum". No fulcrum appears - the word he's looking for is "pendulum".

Comments:

When I first heard JJ Abrams was directing I said to myself, this is going to be one badass movie. I love "Alias" and Lost", "Alias" being more in the same vein as M.I. Finally, this franchise is going to be kickass. Well, you cant have everything. JJ Abrams does give this flick the kick in the butt its been needing since it started back in "96"...but unfortunately the lack of plot keeps it from being anything more than a loud, crash bang, Tom running around like a lunatic, plane exploding entry( take some advil or tylenol before seeing this) I left with a headache. The plot is simple; Big bad guy has this thing called the "Rabitts Foot" that everyone wants and Ethan Hunt is called in to get it and the bad guy and bring them all in. Thats it in a nutshell and aside from one little twist at the end, thats the plot in a nutshell. When the movie begins you feel like you watching Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes having a bad day at their Scientology Church...then we are shown how it all began....and again, I felt like I was watching the Tom Crusie/Katie Holmes story. The actress eeriely resembles Katie. Look for the scene where Tom and Michelle actually look as if they are competing to see who can keep their eyes from blinking and make themselves cry during a dramatic scene.(you'll know what I'm talking about) What bothers me most about these movies is that, unlike the original TV series, these films cater more to Tom's character than the group as a whole. M.I. was always about the interaction of all agents called in on a mission. Where the women are as able as the men. These movies are all basically about "Ethan Hunt"...One scene that bugged me was a chase scene in which the female IMF agent, played by Maggie Q, could have finally been more than just the pretty face/smart girl. She is shooting through the back window in the backseat of the car at the baddies chasing them. How they get out of this situation and what happens next should have been her key scene but they make it about "Ethan Hunt" as if he the only one who can kick butt and get everyone out of trouble. I guess I'm spoiled from watching Sydney Bristow on "Alias" which is what this movie basically is. If you look closely you can see the Alias counterparts all over this movie even down to the quirky computer guy played very well by the guy from "Shaun of the Dead". The one true badass chick in this flick is played by Kerri Russell, in a cameo performance, showing she is prime for action movies. She looks great and handles herself toe to toe with Ethan Hunt. To bad the part is minor. Her character and this whole scene is what the flick should have been like with all the agents. But alas, as I said you cant have everything. An honorable mention to Phillip Seymour Hoffman who played his part very well and was a great choice for the "Baddie"..And Laurence Fishburn..who plays his part to the hilt and has the best lines in the movie..Now heres a real kick in the pants..for anyone who cares on having closure...You wont get it. What everyone just got killed over or almost killed for is never elaborated on or explained at the end..I guess we would have to be killed if they told us...this movie will self destruct in five seconds....please.

author: leorican from United States

"Mission: Impossible III," the latest installment of the blockbuster movies which in turn were based from a TV series, is for those looking for a way to start off the summer season at the movies. Here is a movie filled with action and nothing more. There are the usual: Tom Cruise running and getting banged up, high degrees of improbability, explosions, gadgets, the whole shebang. Still, "M:I:III" is a fast-paced thriller that manages to get hold of you for the 120-minute span of its running hour and never lets go.

After retiring as Impossible Missions Force (IMF) team leader to lead a "normal" life with his fianceé Julia (Michelle Monaghan), Ethan Hunt (Cruise) returns to the team to help recapture criminal arms dealer Owen Davian (Philip Seymour Hoffman) who has escaped from prison and is now making life difficult for the IMF. As for Hunt, his encounter with Davian has upped the ante for him: he not only has to save the world now, he also has to save the woman he loves. Cruise (either you love him or you hate him) still fits into his role well, and Hoffman, who has just won an Oscar for his portrayal of Truman Capote, also effectively displays a chilling seriousness to his villain role. The rest of the cast - Billy Crudup, Ving Rhames, Maggie Q, Michelle Monaghan, etc. - all give nice performances.

It's a given that this film would offer little in terms of intellect or depth in the script. Yet the way director J.J. Abrams and his co-writers injected humor and emotions, plus how its action scenes were superbly handled, save "M:I:III" from becoming just another passable popcorn movie which is why I liked it. It is a film intended solely for the purpose of escapism and it achieves that purpose. Although there is a feeling that it could have been more, it easily surpasses the first two "M:I" in an explosively stylish way.

author: blue cheese from Philippines

____________________

sources: http://answers.com
             http://www.imdb.com

This is only a temporary post and is subject for future ..deletion....waaaaaaaaaaaaahhh
